Let's talk about hair growth and what that really means. So I'm, like a broken record saying that your hair growth depends on a lot of things. 

  • Genetics

  • Health

  • Medications 

So if you've never really had hair down to your butt, or you've never had like a full luscious afro, and no one in your family ever has before, it’s probably not going to be in the cards for you no matter how well you care for your hair. I can’t change your genetics, but what I can do is help you retain the length by maintaining your hair at home. 

I can work with you to build an at-home routine that helps keep your hair cuticle closed and hydrated, which will protect your hair from breakage. I can give you guidance on talking to a doctor about the underlying causes of hair loss, like nutrient deficiencies, dehydration, other illnesses, or side effects from medications you’re taking. 

Because at the end of the day, hair isn’t an essential organ and if there’s something else going on in the body, the nutrients are going to go to your vital organs and functions, and ultimately that will leave you will shorter and weaker hair. You can put as many products on your hair as you want, but if there’s something underlying at work, they’re really not going to help as much as they could. 

So in the video below, I talk through specifics about maintaining your hair’s cuticle health, avoiding breaking and shedding, and growing and keeping that length we all want. 

I’m also sharing the success story of a client, who was able to figure out the health causes behind her hair loss, get those taken care of, and paired with a protective style, grow out longer, stronger, healthier hair.
